The Federal Immigrant Investor Program (also known as the Investor Category of the Business Class) seeks to attract experienced business persons and capital to Canada. This category is ideal for those who want to immigrate to Canada by doing a risk free passive investment with the Federal Government
FEATURES
- Invest C$800,000 with the Government of Canada;
- Investors are not required to start a business in Canada;
- Investments are fully guaranteed by provinces and territories that
participate in the program;
- The provinces and territories control the investment during the five-year lock-in period;
- No immigration "terms and conditions" are imposed upon admission;
- Permanent residence visas are issued for the applicant, spouse and dependent children. After 3 years of residence in Canada, investor is eligible for Canadian citizenship.
ELIGIBILITY
- Have successfully operated, controlled or directed a business;
- Have a minimum net worth of at least C$1,600,000. An Investor's net worth need not have been created by his/her own endeavors but, rather must have been "legally obtained" (which means it can be inheritance or gift, etc.). Assets of an Investor's spouse/common-law partner can also be included when assessing net worth;
- Make a payment of C$800,000* to the Receiver General for Canada.
*Financing solution to replace the C$800,000 required investment (90% of investors do this): If you do not wish to liquidate your assets to come up with the C$800,000 mandatory deposit, we can provide financing through a government approved financial institution. This fee will not be returned to you, and the financial institution will invest $800,000 with the government on your behalf.
